A different day at DeGray

Today's weigh-in will decide the Team Championship as well at the top three teams that advance to fish as individuals for a Bassmaster Classic berth.

No team at the top of the Day One leaderboard in the Toyota Bonus Bucks Bassmaster Team Championship was particularly confident yesterday that they could repeat their good fortune again today.

And that was before the bright sunshine of Wednesday gave way to overcast skies today.

Today's weigh-in will decide the Team Championship as well at the top three teams that advance to fish as individuals for a Bassmaster Classic berth that will be decided Friday and Saturday.

Justin Kerr of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and John Weisfuss of Los Angeles, Calif., weren't  real happy with the lack of wind early this morning. They finished in sixth place on Day One with 11 pounds even.

"We need wind," Kerr said. "All our fish were wind-related yesterday."

A few minutes later Kerr landed a keeper largemouth that bit a jig.

"That's the first fish I've caught on a jig all week," Kerr said.

So it's anybody's guess who will be helped and who will be hurt by the changing weather conditions today.
