New friends made on Kentucky Lake

10:16 am EDT, Jul 22, 2014

When the two Wisconsin teams (New Richmond High School and Mississippi Coulee Co-op) fell short of making the final day cut at the High School Championship, Cade Laufenberg and Pat Ehlenfeldt (coaches) pointed their trailers toward New Johnsonville, Tenn., to get after some big Kentucky Lake bass one last time before making the 10- and 13-hour drives respectively back to La Crosse and New Richmond, Wis.

In just three hours, all of the anglers managed to whack some impressive Kentucky Lake bass, with several in the 4-pound range, a 5-pounder, and a 6 1/2. The teams stayed close to each other and chatted about the phenomenal fishing the entire time.

Hundreds of miles from home, we find ourselves making new friendships that will last a lifetime, and we thank B.A.S.S. for giving us that opportunity. The boys and their coaches won't ever forget this blessed day and the wonderful week they had. Thank you, B.A.S.S.!
