Day 4 Mercer talks weather on Lake Seminole.
Brett Hite just caught a 6 pound bass, allowing him to cull up nearly 5 pounds. We're estimating that gives him around 20 pounds in the livewell. Brett caught the big fish right off the boat dock you see in the photo. He had cast under the dock and the fish followed the lure out. The bite came literally a foot or two from the boat.
The fish however did pay him back just a little. When Brett was putting it in the livewell the bass gave a strong kick and sliced his finger with its dorsal fin. In the photo Brett is sitting down to tape up his finger. I'm thinking Brett considers this a fair trade.
Aaron Martens' BASSTrakk location is incorrect. His BASSTrakk unit was brought in by a camera boat driver. Aaron still has one fish for 4 pounds as shown on BASSTrakk. We will update his weight with every fish catch so his total will be accurate, but his location will not be accurate.
The leaderboard is not updating for Shaw Grigsby, but we have him currently with 4 fish for 10 pounds 15 ounces. That puts him at 70 pounds and 2 ounces unofficially, putting him in 5th.
Byron Velvick catches an estimated 6-pounder on a crankbait.

Davis just culled. It wasn't much of an upgrade. He continues to work this area with his Crankbait.
Watch Kevin Short on the water on Day 4 of the Dick Cepek Tires Bassmaster Elite at Lake Seminole presented by Hardee's:
The edge of the weather front has officially moved in to the lower part of the lake. In the last hour the partly cloudy skies have changed to completely cloudy. The wind is still howling from the southeast, like it has all day.
Aaron Martens has moved off his primary spot with one 5-pounder in his livewell.
Mark Davis has just moved back to his starting point this morning off the Flint River.
Brett Hite is now fishing a series of boat docks. Photograher James Overstreet and I are noticing that the water has dropped about four inches since early this morning, by looking at the pollen lines on the dock posts. The water here is clearer as well. Should make it easier
for the fish to see Brett's lure. He just caught a nice sized pickerel. But that fish won't be going in the livewell, wrong species. Brett also had a bass close to the boat, but it came unhooked at the last minute.
