Community hole blues

Not far away from the launch site at Metropark is a community hole in Anchor Bay. There are about 15 boats here, none of them anchored. And none of the anglers aboard are catching much in the way of bass. Lures going into the water run the gamut from crankbaits and drop shots to finesse rigs and jigs. The action, or so we thought, would be much better. Maybe so on Lake Erie.

The forecast offers a glimpse of what’s to come, though. Today it’ll be sunny with a high of 87 with gusts to 22 mph. Tomorrow it depends on which forecast you want to believe. Heavy rain, thunderstorms and windier are the common words throughout. That all makes running into the big Erie a dicey proposition. Our guess is that anyone going to Erie is there today, not tomorrow.
