A slightly warmer morning greeted anglers on Day 2 of the B.A.S.S. Nation Southern Divisional competition on Lake Eufaula. A big difference from Day 1 will be cloud cover. Yesterday saw the high, bright skies typical of post-frontal conditions. The "bluebird" day likely curtailed the otherwise active spring bite that Eufaula had been experiencing prior to the recent cold spell.
Today's warming weather and cloud cover should put the bass in a better mood. Anglers will throw a mix of spinnerbaits, crankbaits, swim jigs, chatterbaits and flipping jigs. A morning shad spawn will offer a brief period of opportunity, but conditions should favor a variety of tactics throughout the day.
