Strong wind impacting Grigsby’s morning

This morning Steve Bowman and I are following Day 1 leader Shaw  Grigsby. He's back in the same spot where he did his damage yesterday. It's a big wide stretch of the St. Lawrence River, and today a brutal 25 mile an hour wind is beat down on Grigsby and us.  We're rolling around in whitecaps and lots of spray. Bowman is having trouble standing with the camera, and I'm having trouble typing with the spray and the rolling. But I'm not complaining. At least it's not cold!

Conditions were a lot calmer yesterday when Grigsby built his lead here yesterday. He said he caught his Day 1 limit on six casts. It's a different story today.  Grigsby is handling the wind and waves by bracing himself up against his bow seat and calmly fishing away. No catching yet on the Grigsby watch. Stay tuned!
