At registration yesterday we heard a variety of complaints about Lake Ontario being off limits this year. Of course that's where Brandon Palaniuk won this event in 2013.
"I bet they're not too unhappy about not being on the big lake today," our driver, Doug Kirkbride, said.
With the rain and wind we've seen today, Ontario would be very rough.
"When you see the flags out straight (and they are today) it's not great to be out there," Kirkbridge said. "When the wind is coming from the southwest like it is today, big waves stack up at the mouth of the river. The anglers would have to get through them to get to Lake Ontario."
