As you’ll see in the photo, Shaw Grigsby has paused to re-tie. That’s Bassmaster LIVE cameraman Rick Mason in the boat with him, and my boat mate Steve Bowman is in the foreground. Grigsby tells us his response to the heavy wind is to throw heavier weight. “I’m throwing the heaviest stuff I own,” he said. The only problem with that is the heavier tackle is getting hung up more on the bottom, and Grigsby has broken off several times.
Throughout this challenging morning Grigsby has continued to talk excitedly to the LIVE Show camera. This veteran angler appears to take a ton of joy in teaching and talking to the fans. As we headed out he said, “I’ve had two great days here. Monday and yesterday. Today is tougher. But it’s still morning.”
