Ish: “Two minutes to spare, homie.”

If you haven't seen the GoPro video of Ish Monroe saving the day for out-of-gas tournament leader Justin Lucas yesterday, it's worth viewing. Although Ish handles it like "just another day on the Elite Series," the implications were huge.

Thanks to Monroe's help, Lucas did make it to check-in with "two minutes to spare, homie," as Ish said. Lucas was able to weigh-in a 19-pound bag that gives him a 3-pound lead over second-place Aaron Martens entering the day. Monroe could have been a lot closer than 7 pounds, 10 ounces out of the lead if he'd left Lucas floating down the Sacramento River Saturday. But those type tactics are rarely put to use on this circuit – very, very rarely.
