Having a big bass in the bag is always a key to success in any Elite Series event, but it's magnified at the Sabine. Terry Scroggins took big bass honors for the 2013 event with a 6-1.
"You can ride a 4- or 5-pound bite for two days here," said Cliff Crochet during Wednesday's anglers meeting. "They are few and far between."
So far this morning, Jacob Poroznik has a 3 1/2-pounder and Bill Lowen has a 3-pounder. That's close enough to kicker-size to put a smile on your face.
