Grigsby in “clear” water

There has been a lot of talk about water clarity, or lack thereof, during this tournament. Shaw Grigsby has found some relatively clear water in the canal where he just landed his first keeper.

A Secchi disk is an 8-inch metal disk with alternating black and white quadrants. It is lowered into the water until it disappears, which provides a measurement of transparency.

A redneck Secchi disk is a white Strike King Pure Poison bladed jig lowered on braided line. It disappeared at 12 inches where Grigsby is fishing now.

That's clearer than most of the water in Taylor Bayou. I took a redneck Secchi disk reading of 7 inches where Grigsby started today.
