Anglers bunched in 3 groups, plus McClelland

The 113 anglers in this field are bunched in three groups, roughly: 1) near the launch site at Orange, 2) east in the Lake Charles area, and 3) southwest of Orange near Taylor Bay.

As the crow flies, it's 50 miles between the boats furthest east and west. But there ain't no straight lines in the marsh. The boat runs are serpentine, unless you're in a shipping canal.

And then there's Mike McClelland, sitting out all by his lonesome, 55 miles west of his closest competitor.

Tip of the hat to Ronnie Moore for his Google Earth work in determining the distances.
