Looking for my long johns

Typically I go through a great deal of trouble to be overly prepared for these events.

I keep an eye on the weather and anything else that might give me a clue as to what I might need.

Regardless, I always bring more than one rain suit. I always have a hoodie. And I always bring double the amount of underwear one needs for a regular week of work.

For this week I should have brought long johns and heavier clothes. The temperature gauge in Chris Noffsinger's truck was at 48 degrees this morning as we pulled out and headed toward Huron.

It's since moved up to 51 degrees and holding steady. That's 10 degrees cooler than the weather app promised.

On one hand it's super nice. But on the unprepared hand, not so much.

Check out some of the photos from yesterday and you will see anglers bundled up like it was February. Some of us made the mistake of wearing shorts.

We should get some sun today. That will warm things up. And it should fire up the smallmouth as well.

Of course when the fishing is good no one pays attention to the temperature.
