Skeet Reese making some noise, a day late

Skeet Reese might have been the most disappointed angler to cross the weigh-in stage on Day 1 at Lake Havasu. Reese expected to do well here, and entered the event 23rd in the Toyota Angler of the Year standings. After catching only 3 fish totaling 6 pounds, Reese was in 105th place.

But Reese is on fire today. He already has a limit weighing around 20 1/2 pounds, which has vaulted him into third place overall. A two-day total of 26 1/2 pounds should put Reese in the top 52 cut for Saturday. It will be difficult for Reese to improve that total of 20 1/2 today, if it's accurate. That's an ounce more than Day 1 leader Edwin Evers had.
