A bass-a-minute catch rate

If you’re watching Bassmaster LIVE, you might think the catch-rate on Lake Havasu today is down significantly over windy Day 1. But that is absolutely not the case. When spread out over the 112-angler field, we’re getting fish catches from Marshals at the rate of about one per minute, just like it was all day yesterday.

With five cameras on the water and such a tight focus on the leaders, it only seems like the fish-catching has slowed. Mike Kernan has been particularly hot in the past hour. He’s caught 14 bass in the first three hours, although his best five weigh only 11 pounds.
