Christie is catching some monster fish. The only problem is they all seem to be big drum.
He’s still stuck on one at 8:30 in the morning. I define that because cell service is so spotty it might be a while, if ever, this actually sends.
Christie seems undeterred. Mixed in with those drum have been several short smallmouth. We guess he’s waiting for the big ones to show.
This area is a lot like the flat area where Jordan Lee and Brock Mosley are fishing but it’s deeper by a few feet. These smallmouth seem to roam these flats chasing the big schools of yellow perch and scattered crawfish.
Christie is making a drift over the flat, targeting individual fish and pieces of cover when he sees them.
Since I started this blog he’s caught another approaching the 4-pound range, plus had three or four more bites while landing a short smallmouth.
He may be getting dialed in. All of that has taken place in the last 15 minutes. It’s now 8:45 am
