Mark Davis' short move to a new spot paid off quickly. He caught what appeared to be a 3-pounder that gives him four fish. We don't know yet how big the first three are.
With the great practice Davis had, it would be understandable if the current Toyota Angler of the Year leader was a bit down. He finished Thursday with 17-14, which put him in 26th place. He'd caught big fish all three practice days.
"I'm not disappointed one bit," Davis said at the weigh-in. "I know I can go out there tomorrow and catch 25 pounds and be right back in this thing."
Davis has a string of four-straight top 3 or better finishes that dates back to the last Elite Series event in 2013.
