Ridin’ the storm out

Thankfully there were a few empty boat stalls in the nearest private dock when the storm hit us on Table Rock Lake.

Thankfully there were a few empty boat stalls in the nearest private dock when the storm hit us on Table Rock Lake. Photographer Darren Jacobson, boat driver Russ Malmsbury and I have been listening to the rain pound the sheet metal roof of this dock for the last 20 minutes.

 

As you can see from the video, this isn't your average spring sprinkling. It's torrential. The thunder and lightning that just  occurred — way  too close together — isn't encouraging either.

 

And just like that the sky has brightened and the rain has stopped. Wow. It's suddenly as quiet as church.
