Several anglers have mentioned the importance of one big fish in a five-bass limit this week. And we're seeing why right now. Of all the fish catches we've seen this morning, Brent Chapman is the only one with a kicker in the 6- to 7-pound range. Most are in the 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 pound range.
Bernie Schultz just pointed out to us that he observed James Niggemeyer release a 5-pounder, which must have been illegally hooked outside the mouth.
"Unless he's got a livewell full of 6-pounders," Schultz said.
