Shaw Grigsby has the reputation as a great sight fisherman. So when he had a 30 pound 5 ounce bag on day 1, most people assumed he did it sight fishing. We can tell you now that he didn't. He was casting a few different lures that we won't mention just yet. Shaw didn't do anything to dissuade people's misperception. "He's a wiley veteran," said roommate Paul Elias. "He was going through the weigh-in line giggling."
Day 2 was a different story for Shaw. His Thursday technique didn't work on Friday and he caught all five fish that day sight fishing, for 12 pounds.
