A lot of boats have been running this morning. You get the sense that no one is on a pile of fish.
We found Jeff Kriet fishing flooded trees. He catches keeper number five as we draw near. He quickly catches another that he tosses back. He lands another small one minutes later that also goes back into the drink.
"The big ones are hard to come by," he laments.
He has thrown several different baits in the short time we've been watching him.
We slip over to Chris Zaldain who is fishing a shoreline nearby. He has two in the box. The rain has let up, but it is still heavily overcast. The air temperature hasn't come up yet. It's still in the low 60s. Snyder tells me the water temperature is 68.
