Hank Cherry caught his fifth keeper on a white swim jig, and this one was a bit bigger than the last few — a largemouth weighing about 2 1/4 pounds. That should give him 10 pounds-plus.
Cherry just swung and missed on another one. He's fishing a sand flat with some isolated vegetation that has a steep drop at the end of it. Cherry is working the breakline.
The winds of fall are definitely evident this morning. There's a crisp north breeze producing enough of a chill to make you want to keep your hoodie on.
The waterfowl feel it, too. Canada geese are continually pouring into the lake. Some of them are way up high and cupping and fluttering down.
It's enough to make some of us think about shooting something, like ducks and geese. Spectators are okay at the moment.
