This is about as star-studded a group of Bassmaster Elite Series finalists as I can remember. Each of the 12 has won at least one B.A.S.S. event, 10 of them have won an Elite Series tournament (all but John Murray and Randy Howell), there are three former Bassmaster Classic champions (Alton Jones, Skeet Reese and Paul Elias) and as many former Anglers of the Year (Brent Chapman, Reese and Aaron Martens) in the field.
Every one of the finalists has been to at least six Classics, and eight of them have been to more than 10. Between them, they've been to a total of 136 championships. And, for what it's worth, Elias won his Classic right here on the Alabama River 31 years ago.
This is an extremely impressive group. Autograph seekers should flock to the final weigh-in for these guys. If you're debating whether or not to come out, this is one you don't want to miss. If you're thinking about mowing the lawn, it can wait. If you need to do some work around the house, it'll still be there tomorrow or next weekend. And if you need your parents to give you a lift, make them read this: We may never -- ever -- have such an accomplished bunch of finalists again!
