The Toyota Tundra Angler of the Year top five has some really interesting nuances today. First if you were to pick five of the nicest guys on the Elite tour, these five would be very high on the list. We have Randy Howell, David Walker, Brent Chapman, Brandon Card, and Ott DeFoe. Is that a coincidence? I don’t know what to say about that, but it’s fun to see. Also, three of the top five are East Tennessee guys– Walker, Card, and DeFoe. It’s very rare to see three guys from the same state in the top five. Though it’s not surprising to see two of them still fishing today– Card and DeFoe. Both grew up fishing Douglas Lake, and have fished these waters hundreds of time. It’s giving the crowds here at Douglas something extra to get fired up about. The AOY race will no doubt change many times before the season is over, but today we are heavy on nice guys at the top, and guys from East Tennessee.
