Dave Lefebre has landed a bass that he hardly ever lands – one that got stuck in some buckbrush and stayed hooked until Lefebre trolled up next to it. It finally came loose for Lefebre to lip it in the boat.
“That never happens to me,” he said. “I always lose ’em when that happens.”
And it provided a significant cull of two to three pounds, which has him within ounces of the lead. BASSTrakk shows him with 17-7 today.
“I’m not saying it’s supposed to happen,” Lefebre said, referring to a possible victory, “but things are happening that don’t happen when it’s not supposed to happen.”
