Slower day

It’s much slower today than on Friday. There were times two days ago when Palaniuk and Herren would hook up at the same time and many times when one or the other would catch them on back-to-back casts.

The action is a far cry from that today. We watched Palaniuk put two in the box, one in the 4-pound range and another that wouldn’t have gotten a second look on Friday.

Herren has one. It’s close to 5 pounds, but neither has produced a flurry of action.

Palaniuk has actually moved on. Herren though is staying. It would have to be hard to leave.

We are sure he’s expecting the fish to move to him or start biting. Things, though are different. It’s blue bird sunny out today. It was the same yesterday.

It’s windy and rolling today. It was calmer yesterday.

There’s lots of things that have to be running through Herren’s mind.

Is the sun slowing things down? Has it moved the fish?

Did the calm Saturday allow the locals to find and beat up his area even more?

Most of those questions can’t be answered with a definitive response. Only time will tell if the action will heat up. But at the moment it’s a much slower day than expected by everyone involved.
