More water flowing in than out

Wheeler Lake is on a slow rise that’s forecast to continue through Sunday, according to the Tennessee Valley Authority website. There’s also some current, as one generator is running, releasing just over 10,000 cubic feet per second at Wheeler Dam. That’s forecast to continue around the clock through Sunday as well.

Because there’s 12,000 to 15,000 cfs flowing into Wheeler, the lake level has gradually risen from 555.60 feet above sea level on Wednesday to 555.75 today and is predicted to be 556.06 on Sunday.

Based on what you’d expect with those numbers and what we’ve seen the last two days in the results of this tournament, those are optimal bass fishing conditions – a rising Tennessee River with some current flowing through it.
