There’s nothing like a tournament during the spawn in Florida, and the St. Johns River has produced some fireworks in the first hours. If you’re following the BASSTrakk Twitter feed, you’ve seen the following: Brandon Lester with a 9-pounder at 8:01, Bill McCaghren with an 8-12 at 8:28, Gerald Swindle with an 8-0 at 8:46, Drew Benton with a 6-0 at 8:29 and Alton Jones with a 6-0 at 9:03.
Sight-fishing conditions aren’t at there best, but apparently they’re good enough. There is some blue visible in the mostly cloudy sky.
