Pickwick has been lots of fun this past week and weekend. It was fishing very strong. It was as good as I've ever seen it. Every place you went there were fish. Shallow, deep, in between — it didn't matter. Almost everyone I've talked to was catching 100-plus fish a day.

This is a great time of year to be here, and it shows the value of aquatic vegetation. Several years ago there wasn't any here, and the fishing wasn't nearly as good. In the meantime, we're trying to juggle schedules for the next few weeks. It's going to be brutal.

I have four tournaments in the next seven weeks. After Guntersville, we're heading to the Arkansas River out of Muscogee, Okla. I've never seen the Arkansas River from there before, so I'm going to ride around to get a feel for it and figure out where I want to practice.

Little Alton just flew home for a tournament on Choke Canyon Lake and his last final exam. After that, he'll be done with his first 13 hours of junior college. Also, keep checking back on the Top Videos tab for a new Keeping Up with the Joneses!
