Elam with 13-pounds

James Elam confirms his estimated weight with BASSTrakk at 13 pounds. While fishing both sides of a creek channel he is making brief stops to fish specific areas. A reaction bait on a point. A slow moving finesse lure near a shoreline channel swing. Intercepting spawning-phase bass in migration is the tactic.

Like my earlier observation about the similarities with Guntersville it’s obvious that timing is everything. At the tournaments last week some anglers catching 20 pounds faltered the next day. The bass are on the move and for Elam it’s matching his strategy and lure presentation with the bass activity.

The weather is also changing. A strong front is approaching and the skies are becoming partly cloudy with a light breeze.
