Ken Cook, moved from ninth to fourth to first to win the 1991 Bassmaster Classic with a 15-bass limit weighing 33 pounds, 2 ounces. The Classic was held Aug. 22-24, 1991 on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
After three days of dogged determination, Guido Hibdon, the runner-up in the year's Bassmaster Angler of the Year race, won with a three-day catch weighing 28 pounds, 8 ounces to obtain the crown for the 18th Classsic. The tournament was held Aug. 25-27, 1988.
Jack Chancellor, from Phenix City, Ala., won the Classic and $50,000 with a three-day total of 19 bass weighing 45 pounds. The 15th annual Bassmaster Classic was held Aug. 15-17, 1985, on the Arkansas River.
Once a Bassmaster Classic champion, always a Classic champion. It's one of those things that truly can't be taken away from you. These anglers know what it means to hoist this trophy and be introduced as a world champion.
