Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Southern, Central, Northern Open Series Overview

• 2013 Bassmaster Classic berth to the Pro Division winner of each BPS Bassmaster Open tournament (*must compete in all three tournaments in division to qualify)
• Three (3) events in each BPS Bassmaster Open Division
• CASH and MERCHANDISE payout for pro angler and co-angler
• $500 BIG BASS OF THE TOURNAMENT for both pro and co-angler division
• No off-limits
• Official practice Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday prior to each event (see official rules)
• Registrations, Wednesdays @ 1pm - 4pm local time
• Briefings, Wednesdays @ 5pm local time
• Payout based on 125 boats and adjusted for actual field size.
• Pro / Co, random pairings
• The top 50 pros and co-anglers in each division receive priority entry into 2013 BPS Bassmaster Opens to fish as pro or co-angler.
• FINAL DAY WEIGH-INS AT BASS PRO SHOPS, top 12 pros and top 12 co-anglers to compete

2012 BPS Bassmaster Open Series Format – Competition days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Pro $1250 entry ($500 deposit)

• Full field days one and two
• Top 12 day three
• Weights carry over all three days
• Five fish limit

Co-angler $350 entry ($150 deposit)

• Full field days one and two
• Top 12 day three paired with top 12 Pros @ random
• Weights carry over all three days
• THREE FISH LIMIT

2011 BPS Bassmaster Opens Payout (based on fields of 125)

100 point system for all B.A.S.S. series

• 1 point per registered boat following pairings on Wednesday
• 125 boats, winner receives 125 points, second place 124 points, etc
• 150 boats, winner receives 150 points, second place 149 points, etc
• must weigh a fish to receive points

   

Who qualifies for 2013 Elite Series from the BPS Bassmaster Opens Series?

 Top 5 Pros in points from each of the 2012 BPS Bassmaster Southern, Northern and Central Opens Series are eligible for the 2013 Elite Series. Should any anglers decline, BASS will work down respective Open Series points standings until 5 qualifiers are secured.

2013 Bassmaster Classic qualifications

• (a) 2012 Bassmaster Elite Series Champions must compete in all 2011 Elite Series competition days eligible
• (b) Defending Bassmaster Classic Champion must compete in all 2012 Bassmaster Elite Events eligible
• (c) BPS Bassmater Open Pro Champion must compete in all three events in Open Series
